Went for a lovely drive to Azay le Rideau and Reigny-Usse on Sunday afternoon. The trees are just coming into leaf, so the drive through the forest was lovely.
Usse was quite busy despite the rather heavy April Showers, as sign of it’s popularity. It is so beautiful! Called the Sleeping Beauty Castle, as it is said to have inspired the famous story by Charles Perrault, it is a mass of towers and turrets http://www.chateaudusse.fr/ In the attics and eaves there are models of sleeping beauty, the wicked queen, and the handsome prince!
